2. Ordering / Payment

Ordering could not be easier. Simply browse our store, and add any items that you wish to buy into the shopping cart. After you have finished your selection, click on 'Checkout' and you will be asked for a few details that we need to be able to complete the order.

The shopping cart is secured via 128bit encryption and the SSL certificate is maintained by GeoTrust, which means that it is completely secure which you can see from the 'padlock' image in your browser or the special "https://..." in the URL address field. Once you have reached the payment stage you can decide how you wish to pay:
  • By Visa/Mastercard/Debit card online using our Secure Server.
  • By Visa/Mastercard/Debit card over the telephone.
  • By Cheque or Postal Order.
We do not charge for any item until it is ready to ship. Back ordered items are not charged until they are shipped.

You will be sent an email confirming the order has been received, this is to indicate that we have received your order. It does not indicate that a contract exists between us. We will indicate acceptance of your order, and hence a contract between us, when we send you an invoice. We have included this term to protect us in the case that a mistake has been made in pricing, we have inadvertently under-priced goods, or we are no longer able to supply a particular product for some reason. In the case of a change of price, we will always contact you first to ensure that the price is acceptable.

VAT at the current rate applies to all orders dispatched for delivery within the UK. If you have indicated that you are eligible for VAT Exemption we will process your order once we have received confirmation of exemption.

Products can and do change. We accept no liability for errors or omissions in our product descriptions. Before placing an order on your behalf we will advise you of any significant material changes to the product and confirm that you are content to proceed. Note: The manufacturers reserve the right to undertake minor changes to specifications, without notice, as they committed to continually improving their products.

3. VAT Exemption

On the majority of goods we supply, VAT Exemption / Zero Rated Supplies is possible for qualifying customers.

Supplies can be zero rated to customers when:

1. the person is 'chronically sick or disabled'
  • a person is 'chronically sick or disabled' if he/she is a person:
    • with a physical or mental impairment which has a long-term and substantial adverse effect upon his/her ability to carry out everyday activities;
    • with a condition which the medical profession treats as a chronic sickness, such as diabetes; or
    • who is terminally ill.
It does not include a frail elderly person who is otherwise able-bodied or any person who is only temporarily disabled or incapacitated, such as a broken limb.

2. the goods and services are purchased or acquired for their personal or domestic use.

To claim VAT relief on your purchases you just need to complete a VAT Exemption form, which can be filled out and sent electronically or printed out, signed and posted to us.

Goods are exempt from VAT only if they are manufactured specially to suit a disabled person. We have tried to indicate products that are NOT eligible for VAT Exemption, please contact us if you need further clarification.

4. Shipping and Handling

We offer FREE Delivery on all orders over £45* within UK Mainland**. All orders below £45 will be charged at a standard postage rate of £3.67 to the UK Mainland. Please contact us if you require charges for delivery outside of the UK.

Depending on the nature of the product, we will use either Royal Mail, a courier service or a trained Aidmobility driver to deliver your products to you.

All items are dispatched depending on stock availability within 24 hours of placing your order, with a standard delivery time within 5 working days. In most cases we are able to deliver mobility products and living aids within 14 days (many within 5 days), with the exception of personalised and made-to-order items which would need an additional preparation time.

If an item is required urgently we will try our best to get this item to you as soon as possible, in this case it is advisable for you to contact us before placing your order so that we can give you an approximate delivery date. When a mobility product or living aid is ready for dispatch, we will contact you to let you know when to expect delivery.

On receipt of delivery, please check the goods before signing the Couriers delivery note. All claims for damages or shortages must be received in writing within 3 days of delivery, otherwise no claim will be accepted. Claims for damages can only be accepted if the words 'received damaged' are written on the carrier's docket. Goods should therefore be carefully inspected prior to signing docket.

5. Warranty Policy

All of our products come with a full 12 months manufacturer's parts warranty against faulty manufacture or materials*. Aidmobility Limited partners the manufacturer's parts warranty with a 12 month labour warranty associated with repairs for most major products*. In the event of a defect arising under the warranty the product must be returned to our premises for repair in the original packaging. This is in addition to and in no way effects your statutory rights.

* Exclusions from the warranties include, general maintenance problems such as flat batteries, punctures, general wear and tear, individual user adjustments and user-induced riser recliner problems. Where call-outs occur for such problems the purchaser will remain liable for the call-out, parts and labour costs. However, many problems can be attributable to a lack of user familiarity and can often be overcome with some simple fault diagnosis and guidance on the phone, which we will do whenever this is possible before arranging a visit.
